The NLM "Video Player" allows you to view a video and search the full-text of the transcript. The player is accessed by clicking the "View Video" link on the video's Resource Record page. You must click the "Play" button to start the video. The video's title and publication date appears above the player. Click the "View Resource Record" link to return to the Resource Record page.
You must download and install the latest version of the Adobe® Flash Player to view the videos.
The "Video Player" controls are located below the video screen. The controls include; the Slider and Timestamp, Play/Pause, Volume, and Captions.
The "Slider" allows you to advance or rewind the video to a new frame. Move the arrow located below the slider to the left or right to advance or rewind the video. The time stamp indicates the time of the frame currently displayed in the "Video Player" as well as the playing time of the entire video (Figure 18). The "Time Stamp" changes as the video advances or rewinds.

Select the "Play" button (
) to start the video or the "Pause" button (
) to stop the video at a specified location. The video screen displays the last frame you viewed when the video is paused. To restart the video, click the "Play" button which appears after the "Pause" button is clicked.
Move the pointer below the "Volume" control bar to the left to turn down the volume and to the right to turn up the volume (
).
Captions are automatically set to display at the bottom of the video screen. They are synchronized to display at the same time as the audio (Figure 19). To turn the captions on or off, click the "Caption" button (
) to the right of the "Volume" control.

Every film and video includes a full-text transcript. It is displayed in the "Transcript" window (Figure 20) to the right of the video screen. There is a time stamp at the beginning of every paragraph in the transcript. Use the scroll bar on the right side of the "Transcript" tab to move the window up and down.

You may search the full-text of the video transcripts using the search box beneath the "Transcript" window. Enter a term or phrase in the search box and click the "Search" button (Figure 21B). The results are displayed in the "Search Results" window above the search box (Figure 21A). The video will begin playing the video where the first search result is located.

In the video screen, the video is reset to the location of the first search result and automatically begins to play.
Every result has a corresponding yellow dot in the "Slider" bar below the video screen. The yellow dots identify the locations of the search results listed in the "Search Results" window. An arrow appears below the selected dot and the corresponding time appears in the time stamp.
To view the portion of the video with the search result, click one of the yellow dots to go to the desired location and select the "Play" button to view that portion of the video (Figure 22).
