LIB R A.rfY OF THE SURGEON GENERAL'S OFFICE, UNITED STATES ARMY. SUPPLEMENT TO CATALOGUE. No. I. LIST OP AMERICAN MEDICAL JOURNALS. i^dOlf s*' :S WASHINGTON: GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE, 1872. ~>1 ^+*-: 1 J i i y^ ^y , MEMORANDUM. The following list of American Medical Journals Las been prepared with the object of making the files of the Library of this Office as complete as possible in this kind of literature. It includes the titles of all American medical periodicals of every kind known to the writer; and although not absolutely complete, it is believed to be very nearly so. Two lists are given: A, of those journals of which the Library possesses specimens, even if it be only a Bingle number; B, of those of which no specimens have thus far been obtained. List A. includes 281 titles, corresponding to 247 separate journals. List B includes 100 titles. It is very desirable that the collection of American medical literature in this Library should be made as complete as possible, as it forms, in reality, an important section of the national collection. The Library will purchase or exchange for any journals which will tend to complete its files; and any assistance which may be given toward that end will be highly appreciated. By order of the Surgeon General : JOHN S. BILLINGS, Assistant Surgeon U. S. Army, in charge of Library. Surgeon General's Office, Washington, D. C, April 22, 1872. / <^> A.
