    Lieutenant Colonel  Edward  P.  Vollum, Medical  Inspector
U. S. Army, is hereby charged with the general supervision and di-
rection  of matters pertaining  to  the  Medical Department in  the
Military Division of the  West  Mississippi, and at the posts on the
Eastern bank  of the  Mississippi, referred  to in  War Department,
Special Orders, No. 171, Paragraph  52, May 7th, 1804.
    All orders issued by Lieutenant Colonel Vollum will be obeyed
and respected accordingly.
