Description: Dedicated to Dr. Herbert C. Clark, Director of the Gorgas Memorial Laboratory in Panama from 1929-1954, the film includes images and footage of buildings on the Gorgas grounds; staff and officials; laboratories, specimens, and procedures; live insects; outdoor plants and trees; jungle terrain; a posterboard presentation on Chagas disease; patients being examined and treated for tropical diseases (e.g. a man with open sores covering his legs); and villagers seemingly awaiting medical treatment. The film is part of the Gorgas Memorial Institute manuscript collection at the National Library of Medicine (MS C 212). [This film appears to have had a soundtrack originally, but that soundtrack was missing when NLM acquired it, so it is effectively a silent film.]
Cast: Narration, "Johnny B." Ballinger.
