This film tells the story of planning activities by the Tennessee Valley Authority for the control of malaria in the Kentucky Reservoir area. It shows surveying, clearing, and burning operations for malaria control in the Kentucky Reservoir area. Shots include: Kentucky Reservoir area; dam site; some construction; aerial view of the area; swamp and marsh land; TVA and State health officials planning and mapping; sampling for Anopheles quadrimaculatus mosquito population; breeding places; larvae in pan of water; taking blood sample from finger; various departments' planning conferences and activities (identified by signs and/or insignias); clearing, surveying, and timber cutting; testing purity of drinking water; chlorine content; constructing drainage ditches; blasting and removing shattered tree stumps; dragline operations; malaria control fluctuation zone; area burning for marginal growth removing; mule-drawn and power mowers; burning piles of accumulated brush; and some of the cleared malaria control reservoir area.
